nick bell risk about me

Nick Bell

I have been working in Health and Safety and Risk Management since 2002. In that time I have worked with owners of micro-companies to the Senior Executives of the World’s second largest multinational organisation.

My experience spans the public sector, including the NHS, Education and the Ministry of Justice, to manufacturing, housing, healthcare and other parts of the service sector.

I served as Chair for the Wales region of the Association for Project Safety. My work on the responsibilities of construction clients, and how to fulfil them, has been published widely and I have spoken at conferences and to professional bodies. I have delivered CPD across the UK on CDM 2015 on behalf of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and am now heavily involved in helping professionals and clients to meet their duties under these Regulations.

My work has won a number of awards and has been the subject of a HSE good practice case study.

I am keen to give something back to the profession, and as well as writing articles I have been a mentor and peer-review interviewer for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). I am very proud to have been made a Fellow of IOSH in November 2014. I also deliver annual lectures to Universities in Wales and the South West on Construction Health and Safety Management.

I am currently completing a part time PhD in which I am exploring the association between worker engagement and safety-related behaviours.
